So we get the item inside and we are under two hours, and then the guy says "how much were you quoted?" I told him the truth $400 an hour with a maximum of 2 hours and it should have been moved likely in 1 hour which is what my salesperson told me it would be. On the receipt (5-12-15) the operator/foreman was Jeff and the Rigger was Ryan, so not sure who I was conversing with, but essentially blamed Bruce for the communication. So I paid via check as they had a few trucks here and was not happy at all. A 1 hour job turned into me clearing out mt my own equipment and me literally using my forklift and driving it 200 feet inside by building-please tell me does this sound reasonable?
So I am stewing over this and reach out to Gartons Rigging and explain the situation to Bruce who was my salesman. Bruce was very nice when he came over the first time for the estimate and to close the deal and I told him what happened. He was shocked and not pleased with the situation and promised a call back to me. Personally I would have been okay with $400 back and an apology, but instead I didn't even get a call back. So in the end, I paid $800 for me to work with my equipment and waste time and I do NOT mind spending money, the point is I mind when people charge for delays they cause, not doing what they say they are going to do in terms of service during the contract as well as after the contract failing to follow up.
Very professional! No problems! Would recommend them every time.
Would not recommend this company. I hired them to move something for me @$400 an hour. They were at the pickup and drop off location as part of the estimate and was told they would pick up, bring the item over to my property and use their forklift and equipment to bring the item inside. They arrive at the location for pickup, they THINK there is a forklift here per the gentleman that sold me the item told me. They quickly load the item and then guess what-they do not even know where the item is going. The pickup location seller of the item I purchased called me to tell me they left and didn't even know, poor communication, et cetera. They get here and pull on the main street in front of my business instead of my business lot and consequently block traffic. Additionally, my equipment was of a nature that I did not want everyone to see. They said their forklift could not do the move-did I have one? So I have to move things out of the way to get my forklift, pull my forklift out of the building, bring it to the street, strap it and then I am driving. While I am driving, the one employee of Gartons is giving me directions as if I am an employee. Well, I do not hold it against him per se as normally THEY SHOULD DO THEIR JOB and move the item. It was just not a comfortable situation and I told him something along the line of "if I knew I was going to move this myself, I would have just done it myself and not hired you guys. You guys were supposed to have your own forklift"
You can reach me if you like, I am not going to waste more time on this. Gartons should refund me the 1 hour charged this is laughable at this point and apologize otherwise-if this review is still public, it is what it is, a real review.
