I ve waited almost a month for them to active my food stamp card.They run you around alot. The receptionist are nice fair i never had a problem personally but, they dont have the authorization or knowledge at times. It makes an already trying time harder than it has to be.
The lines are long, the peoole treat you like scum. No one communicates with each other within the building. Theyve lost important paperwork from my case every single year. Helping the poor?? More like doing everything in their power to take the little assistance i get away, its a constant battle. If your not there an hr before the doors open, good luck getting seen. Im alwsys there for a minimum of 4 hrs if im lucky.
Update: I was supposed to have my phone interview for recertification today. Between 830-12. I have no cell service in my home so I had to wait at my mothers house for their call since last time I missed it they made a huge ordeal n I went without food stamps for two months. It's now 2pm still no call!!! I called and told the operator I have been waiting all morning all she said was "k what do u want me to do" lol Idk ur job???? She said nothing else n transferred me to someone's voicemail guess I'll spend my entire day waiting for a call that may or may not happen way to ruin my entire day n now I'll probably lose my food stamps AGAIN!!! WV welfare system was so so so much better than NJ and I didn't even get as much as I do here. Customer service n year round foodstamps is what I need. I can barely pay my bills n my husbands child support . All I ask for is no lapse in food my children need to eat to

They wrote to me telling me to come there at 9:30am...I went there before 9:30...signed in and did everything. I waited for almost an hour and 15 minutes and I was still not called...their service is soo bad..I wish there was another Cumberland welfare office somewhere else.
These workers are HORRIBLE, they treat ppl like trash!That's y they need the police in there.They act like this can't be them standing in that line one day.
They should treat (us) as people should treat one another fair, kind and understanding. I m struggling now waiting on stamps told they didnt activate. If that was so ,why did (they) just give me stamps just a month ago. Computer confussion. So im stuck eating soup while they contact a supervisor thats never around just a recording. I hate our "caring" assistants systems so much. God please let me hit the lotto
